Turner Construction Begins San Antonio Hospital Project

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Turner Construction Company and joint venture partners Byrne Construction Services and Straight Line Management broke ground Jan. 29 on the University Health Palo Alton Hospital.

The $550 million hospital will improve healthcare services for residents in the Southside community of San Antonio.

Five stories tall, Palo Alton Hospital will include an ER, labor and delivery suites, neonatal intensive care unit, operating rooms, inpatient rooms and an attached medical office building.

Hundreds of trades workers are estimated to be needed to build the project.

The hospital expects to open in 2027.
