Walsh and Kokosing Rehabbing Ohio-Kentucky Bridge

November 1, 2023|

COVINGTON, Ky. – The design-build joint venture of Walsh Construction and Kokosing is fulfilling a design-build contract for the $3.6 billion Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project, which includes five miles of Interstates 71 and 75 in Kentucky and one mile of Interstate 75 in Ohio.

The project scope includes construction of a new companion bridge to the west of the existing, iconic Brent Spence Bridge to reduce congestion, improve traffic flow and advance and protect this key regional and national transportation corridor, the Ohio Dept. of Transportation says.

Rehabilitation-related improvements to the original double-decker, cantilevered truss bridge – originally built in the early 1960s – are expected to begin in late 2023.

Other project partners include AECOM and Jacobs for design and WEB Ventures for diversity and inclusion.
