Blackline completed Koken Building Rehab

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Blackline Design + Construction has completed the renovation of an history factory structure into a $19 million apartment community in the Fox Park neighborhood of St. Louis.

The building stood vacant for 20 years. It was constructed in 1912 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Once regarded as one of the buildings comprising the Koken Barbers’ Supply Co. factory building and now called The Koken, the site along Texas Avenue touts approximately 64 apartments and 14 artist studios/offices.

Amenities include a community lounge, fitness center, courtyard, tenant storage units, art gallery, gated parking, co-working spaces and more.

The project is the first of two similar renovation projects by Blackline. In November the developer is planning on starting a similar renovation of another Koken building at 2500 Ohio Avenue. This project is also a multifamily development.
