PHOENIX, Ariz. – Mayo Clinic continues its development and construction of Discovery Oasis, a 3.3 million-square-foot biotechnology corridor adjacent to its existing hospital campus just southeast of Arizona State Route 101 and North 56th Street.

Mayo Clinic’s project team broke ground in late 2023. The $136.4 million project is expected to finish in late 2024.

The 120-acre campus expansion includes a 583,800-square-foot patient tower, 2.24 million square feet of medical and life sciences space (on 76 acres) and 1.8 million square feet of additional outpatient services, medical manufacturing space and nearly 300,000 square feet of retail space.

The L-shaped medical and life sciences development parcel surrounds the existing hospital on the north and east.

Mayo Clinic initially opened the hospital in Phoenix during 1987. It has medical campuses in Scottsdale, Ariz. and Jacksonville, Fla.
