Highly efficient facility paves way for consolidation of Scotts Miracle-Gro regional distribution

MARYSVILLE, Ohio – Contegra Construction Co. has built a 1.3 million-square-foot facility that has enabled The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, the world’s leading marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden as well as indoor and hydroponic growing products, to enhance the efficiency of its supply chain operations in central Ohio.

Developed by Crawford Hoying, the facility is located in Marysville, Ohio, just outside Columbus and about two miles from ScottsMiracle-Gro’s headquarters and primary manufacturing plant. ScottsMiracle-Gro has consolidated five central Ohio distribution operations into the new location, adding 40 jobs and enhancing its distribution capabilities in advance of the 2024 spring lawn and garden season.

Located on an 84-acre site at 12575 Industrial Parkway, the building consists of 8,000 square feet of office space with the remaining space devoted to storage and distribution.

Contegra constructed the building with tilt-up concrete panels with a 38-foot clear height.  It is topped by a TPO roof. The building features 120 dock doors and four drive-in doors. The flexible space has the capacity for an additional 90 dock doors in the future.  A specialty floor designed by Ductilcrete with fiber reinforcement improves floor loading capacity, maximizes control joint spacing, and increases durability. The distribution center is served by a fully automated building management system for HVAC control and monitoring and two electrical services totaling 6000 amps.  Parking for the facility accommodates 230 trucks.
