Construction Adds 2,000 jobs in November, Job Openings Set Record for October
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Associated General Contractors of America’s Chief Economist Ken Simonson reports that U.S. construction employment (seasonally adjusted) totaled 8 million in November – a gain of 2,000 from October and 200,000 or 2.6 percent year over year.
There were 457,000 job openings in construction, not seasonally adjusted, at the close of October. Simonson says this was the highest October total in the 23-year history of the AGC’s Data Digest series and up 11 percent from the October 2022 total of 411,000 job openings.
