ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Construction manager Tarlton Corp. and general contractor Russell Co. are on schedule with preparatory work to build a 79,000-square foot Transportation Center at STLCC’s Forest Park campus.

The $48 million project broke ground Nov. 17, 2023 and is anticipated to complete by Summer 2025.

Community college district voters approved the monies via Proposition R in August 2021 as part of STLCC’s Transformed Initiative.

In additiont to the Transportation Center facility – which will house automotive technology, diesel technology and truck driving programs, a 36,000-square-foot parking lot and a 193,000-square-foot truck driving practice lot will be constructed.

STLCC leaders say the project is intended to grow and educate future professionals to augment the fleet transportation workforce shortage in and around St. Louis.

FGM Architects is the designer.
