Jefferson Arms to Begin Transformation into AC Marriott in June
By KERRY SMITH
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Dallas-based Alterra Worldwide is anticipating beginning an estimated $49 million renovation of the former OYO Hotel in the historic Jefferson Arms Building in downtown St. Louis.
The work, which is expected to commence in June, will include renovations to add event space and apartments to the existing hotel layout.
Construction bids are out now.
The 13-story, 500,000-square-foot building at 415 North Tucker Boulevard will also see shops and restaurants on the first floor and in the lower level.
Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, the hotel originally opened in 1904 as Hotel Jefferson and served visitors who attended the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (St. Louis World’d Fair).
