Completion of First Virginia Tech Alexandria Building on Track for Q3 2024

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The first of three academic buildings at the new Virginia Tech campus in Alexandria, Va. is on schedule to be completed later this year.
The $1 billion project calls for three academic buildings spanning a total of 600,000 square feet.
Building one is 11 stories and 300,000 square feet and will be powered by solar energy.
Developer JBG Smith Properties, Baltimore-based Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. and Detroit-based architect SmithGroup are leading the multi-phase project.
When completed, the Virginia Tech campus will support computer-related, graduate-level programs and serve as a liaison for research and industry.
