LARGO, Fla. – Skanska recently completed construction of the Dr. Michael A. Grego Leadership Institute in Largo, Fla.

Located within the Tampa metro areas, the new 14,690-square-foot training hub was named after retired superintendent of Pinellas County Schools Dr. Michael A. Grego.

The project scope included demolition of two existing structures on the site including a 7,400-square-foot professional education building and a smaller 2,000-square-foot ancillary building. This was followed by the construction of the new multi-use building featuring an open concept that incorporates a large training room with the capacity to hold community events, smaller break-out spaces, a kitchen area, and a new parking lot that can accommodate approximately 50 cars along with grass-area parking for overflow. The project was designed by Rowe Architects.

The newly completed multi-use facility will provide educational advancement opportunities for working professionals in the community.

“We’re proud to deliver the new Dr. Michael A. Grego Leadership Institute, a modern and flexible facility that will support professional development and educational advancement across Pinellas County,” said Daniel Abou-Jaoude, vice president at Skanska. “From the careful demolition of existing structures to the creation of a versatile and modern learning center, our team worked closely with Pinellas County Schools to create a high-quality educational environment that will serve the community by supporting working professionals, strengthening the local talent pipeline and helping to fill critical workforce needs across the region.”
