PALESTINE, Ill. and WAYNESVILLE, Mo. – Two federal grants administered by the Federal Aviation Administration via the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act are funding the near-future construction of two new terminals.
The first project, a new passenger terminal at Saint Robert Regional Airport (within the city of Waynesville near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.), is happening thanks to a $3 million grant. Master planning for the project is being performed by Burns & McDonnell. Construction is expected to begin in early August and wrap up in late August 2025.
A $3.8 million FAA grant is funding construction of a new passenger terminal at Crawford County Airport in eastern Illinois, close to the Indiana border. The former terminal was destroyed by an EF-3 tornado on March 21, 2023.
