ORLANDO, Fla. – Skanska has just completed an $8.6 million renovation at the University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management in Orlando.
The college offers specialized degrees, including theme park and attraction management and maintains strong industry partnerships that provide students with real-world experience.
The 77,600-square-foot project took place over the course of nine months in three distinct stages and was completed while the campus remained active for staff and 2,400 students.
Renovations were aimed at modernizing both faculty and student spaces, fostering collaborative workspaces as well as hands-on learning environments. This included upgrades to 16 classrooms, office areas and the renovation of the Anheuser-Busch Beer & Wine Lab. The Disney Dining Room was reconfigured to enhance functionality and now features an open bar area, while the former campus library was transformed into the Rosen College Commons.
“The renovated spaces serve students across the college and create new opportunities for collaboration, engagement and experiential learning as we continue to prepare the next generation of hospitality, tourism and experienced industry leaders,” said Cynthia Mejia, Ph.D., dean of UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management.
Currently, throughout Florida, Skanska leads approximately $400 million in work on future educational projects in Osceola, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee, Marion and Lee Counties.
