Saline Township Data Center Largest Construction Project in Michigan

SALINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Walbridge is the general contractor building the largest vertical construction project currently underway in Michigan.
It’s the $16 billion Stargate data center campus.
Developed by Related Digital for Oracle and OpenAI, it spans 250 acres and is also the largest economic investment ever made in the state.
The scope of the project includes three 550,000-square-foot data halls.
Construction began in early 2026.
More than 2,500 union tradespeople are working at the site.
The developer expects to have the 1-gigawatt campus up and running by early 2028.
Ann Arbor is 12 miles northeast of Saline Township. Saline Township is roughly 45 miles west of downtown Detroit.
