SHREVEPORT, La. – Work on the $361.7 million Jimmie Davis Bridge construction project is on track to finish in mid-to-late 2027.

The new four-lane bridge is being built just north of the existing two-lane bridge and will carry traffic over the Red River from Shreveport to Bossier City.

Primoris Heavy-Civil (formerly James Construction Group) is the general contractor.

The project began in Q3 2024.

It’s one of the top five largest bridge construction projects in the U.S.

Once the new span is fully operational, the current historic bridge will be rehabilitated and turned into Louisiana’s first over-water linear park and pedestrian trail.
