NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The joint venture general contracting collaboration of BE&K Building Group and HITT Contracting are construction Boeing’s $1 billion campus expansion in North Charleston.

The project, which began in late 2025 and is slated to wrap up in early 2027, includes construction of a second 1.2 million-square-foot final assembly building that will support production of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft – a long-range, midsize, wide-body passenger jet used by global airlines primarily for long-haul, transcontinental and high-demand international routes.

Parts preparation areas, painting facilities and flight line stalls are also part of the facility’s construction scope. At the project’s peak, Boeing estimates that up to 2,500 construction workers will be onsite.
