JACKSON, N.J. – Perhaps one of the most out-of-the-ordinary construction projects of 2026 and 2027 is Project Purple.
A record-breaking tall and wild roller coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J. (halfway between Philadelphia and New York), Project Purple has been designed, manufactured and is being built by Mack Rides, headquartered in Waldkirch, Germany.
The massive vertical tower has already soared beyond 315 feet, making it the tallest structure in the park. Construction crews are actively utilizing a massive 450-foot crane to piece together the tower, track supports and launch mechanisms.
Once completed, this ride is expected to feature multiple launches, an upside-down spinning launch and a skyward spiraling element that has drawn intense curiosity from coaster enthusiasts.
Vertical construction is rapidly advancing, with the attraction expected to officially open to the public in 2027.
Mack Rides handles the specialized fabrication of the record-breaking track and spinning train systems, while Six Flags’ internal engineering division directs the day-to-day site logistics, utility rerouting and construction milestones.
Local subcontractors are executing the 1,100 yards of concrete foundation work and operating the 450-foot crane needed to erect the tower.
