KILLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont’s most notable vertical construction project taking shape in Killington is the $5 billion LiveKillington expansion, designed by Safdie Architects.

It’s a year-round village and ski resort expansion that will add 2,300 residential units and 111,000 square feet of retail and dining.

It’s Vermont’s largest upcoming mass timber project to date.

The design and development teams behind the Live Killington Village expansion include landscape architect PWP Landscape Architecture that is co-designing the village footprint, including the outdoor spaces and the resort’s planned “ski beach.”

Multiple general contracting firms are a part of the enormous build.

And because the initial phases of the project rely heavily on massive public-private civil works such as installing a new municipal water system and reconstructing Killington Road, engineering firm VHB is currently acting as the lead civil engineer, surveyor and permitting coordinator.

Master developer Great Gulf is utilizing localized site-work contractors to execute these initial road and infrastructure foundations before the major vertical building construction begins in earnest.

Completion is estimated to occur in 2028.
