NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The biggest vertical construction project in Connecticut finishing in 2027 is the Adams Neurosciences Center at the Yale New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael Campus in New Haven, Conn.
The $838 million, 500,000-square-foot facility – being built by Turner Construction Co. and is designed by architect Shepley Bulfinch – is the largest healthcare construction project in Connecticut’s history.
A sprawling vertical expansion features multiple towers bordering Sherman Avenue, constructed partially atop the existing McGivney Surgery Center.
It will include 184 inpatient beds and single-patient rooms, a Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit, an Epilepsy Center and a Neuro Rehabilitation Area.
The project officially broke ground in August 2022. Construction topped off in December 2024, and the facility is slated for completion near the end of 2026, with an official patient move-in and opening in early 2027.
