BOSTON, Mass. – The biggest construction project in the Boston area by both footprint and scale is the Suffolk Downs Redevelopment, an $8 billion, 161-acre transformation of the former horse-racing track spanning East Boston and Revere.

Active construction is underway on the multi-decade buildout, on several of its mid-rise residential buildings, such as the 473-unit Portico and Beachmont Square developments.

The general contractor for the massive Suffolk Downs redevelopment project is Suffolk Construction. It is leading the ground-up construction for the entire mixed-use project, which is being developed by HYM Investment Group.

Municipal partners shaping the regulatory and infrastructure landscape include the City of Revere, which approved essential 15-year tax incentive agreements to jumpstart the initial phases.
