MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State University will begun construction in February 2025 on the Eric Foss Championship Performance Center, a $7.8 million athletic facility.

In early May, board trustees approved the budget, scope and naming of the center. 1980 Ball State graduate Eric Foss, former chairman and CEO of Aramark, donated $4 million toward the project’s construction cost.

Ball State Director of Athletics Jeff Mitchell says that if state approvals proceed as expected, the CPC could be completed by late next year or early 2026.

The 10,000-square-foot strength and conditioning facility will be adjacent to Worthen Arena and the Dr. Don Shondell Practice Center. It will feature accessory areas including office, nutrition, athletic training, recovery and storage and building services. The current strength and performance center in Worthen Arena will be repurposed for other uses.

The project’s builder has not yet been named.
