BELLEVUE, Neb. – The $60 million Bellevue Bay Indoor Waterpark – located 10 miles south of Omaha – is on track to complete in 2027.
General contractor ARCO/Murray National Construction and Holland Basham Architects are spearheading the 140,000-square-foot, all-glass, year-round facility under construction in Bellevue, Neb.
Slated to open in mid-2027, it will feature a retractable roof, more than 3,000 feet of slides and Mattel-branded attractions, serving as the anchor for a new 515-acre entertainment district.
Large structural components including steel trusses are currently being erected.
The city will own the park.
One of the unique design features is a wavelike canopy exterior and a retractable roof system from OpenAire. The water park will feature 3,386 feet of slides – the tallest 60 feet high – plus a lazy river, wave pool, swim-up pool bar and more than 50 interactive water features including a 500-gallon tipping bucket.
The facility will hold 415,000 gallons of water. An outdoor FlowRider wave machine will be added for summer months.
Once open, Bellevue Bay will be among the top 10 largest indoor water parks in the U.S. and the largest in the Midwest. The facility’s square footage puts it in the company of major destination water parks like Great Wolf Lodge properties and Kalahari Resorts. The retractable roof feature will allow year-round operation regardless of weather.
