FORT MYERS, Fla. – Real estate developer London Bay – who last summer bought the former Outrigger Resort and Charlie’s Restaurant, both of which were detroyed by Hurricane Ian in September 2022 – has plans to develop the beachside property into a 196-unit resort by the close of 2027.

The plans call for a 17-story resort on a 5 1/2-acre parcel.

The scope of the project, named Fort Myers Beach Hotel & Residences, includes 100 hotel rooms, a 50-room condo hotel and 46 condo residences.

London Bay paid $38 million for the properties.
