ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Associated General Contractors of Missouri has awarded $107,000 in scholarships and grants to 50 students pursuing careers in construction, engineering, project management and the skilled trades across Missouri and the Midwest.
Recipients include graduating high school seniors, current college and university students, apprentices and individuals pursuing technical and trade careers.
“These students are the future of our growing industry,” said Leonard Toenjes, CAE, president of AGCMO. “Construction continues to offer outstanding career opportunities including skilled trades, engineering, project management, safety and many other options. AGCMO is proud to support the next generation of construction professionals as they prepare to enter a workforce that remains critically important to Missouri’s economy and growth.”
The scholarship program is supported through the AGCMO Education Foundation along with contributions from AGCMO leadership groups, memorial scholarships and industry partners.
Scholarship recipients are pursuing careers in:
- Construction management
- Civil engineering
- Architectural engineering
- Skilled trades and apprenticeship programs
- Heavy equipment operations
- Welding
- Electrical and mechanical trades
- Project management and related fields
AGCMO continues to support workforce recruitment efforts through its statewide Build My Future events, which introduce students to hands-on construction career opportunities including skilled trades, engineering, virtual design technologies and building, transportation and infrastructure careers.
AGCMO will host multiple Build My Future events across Missouri this fall.
