LAS VEGA, Nev. – It’s a competition for the most development in a single area of Las Vegas, Nev., a city known for rolling the dice in a big way.

The biggest vertical construction project in Nevada – still in early development stages – is the LVXP Resort & Arena, a massive entertainment and hotel complex. The $1.75 billion project is being envisioned to sit on the site of the former Wet ‘n Wild waterpark. The 27-acre, mixed-use resort, casino and “NBA-ready” arena is being designed and engineered by AECOM. Steelman Partners is the architect for the resort and casino portion.

Alongside it is the $2 billion billion Las Vegas A’s MLB Stadium – a futuristic, 33,000-seat stadium located on the former Tropicana Field site. The Las Vegas Athletics’ ballpark will feature a 290-foot-tall roof truss system and a massive cable-net glass façade.

Mortenson-McCarthy Joint Venture is the general contractor building the A’s stadium, with architects Bjarke Ingels Group and HNTB. It is anticipated to open on opening day of the team’s MLB season in 2028.
