RICHMOND, Va. – Known as the “beverage district” of Richmond, Va., the small neighborhood known as Scott’s Addition has become a hub of brewing, destination restaurants and entertainment options.
Now, construction has begun on the first hotel to join the area after a recent groundbreaking ceremony.
Tennessee-based Thomas Builders will serve as the general contractor of the project, which is expected to be complete by the middle of 2028.
The 12-story, 299-room hotel from Shamin Hotels, one of the area’s largest hoteliers, will carry two Marriott brands, Residence Inn and AC Hotels, and will be located on the site of an old Hardee’s restaurant at 921 Myers St. This would be Shamin’s first AC Hotel in the state of Virgina.
“They’re very elegant, very modern with clean lines and a lot of great finishes like stone,” Shamin Hotels CEO Neil Amin said. “Marriott typically wants (AC Hotels) in neighborhoods that have other things that people want to visit, like breweries and restaurants. They’re not really looking to put these hotels in suburban office parks.”
The hotel will also include a 370-space above-ground parking deck, an in-house restaurant, lounge and bar, as well as a large ballroom.
