MADISON, Wis. – Madison-based Findorff is in the midst of construction of the $419.8 million, 395,000-square-foot Phillip A. Levy Engineering Center at University of Wisconsin – Madison.

The architecture and engineering team is made up of Milwaukee-based Continuum Architects + Planners, in association with Detroit-based architect SmithGroup and Brookfield, Wis.-based mechanical, electrical, plumbing and technology engineering consultants Ring & DuChateau.

Ground broke in April 2025 on the project, which is receiving $226.4 million in state funding. The new center will enable the university campus to teach 1,000 additional undergraduate engineering students. Currently, the university has the space to educate only about a 10th of all its applicants.
