ST. PAUL, Minn. – Bill McGuire, a retired physician and part owner of Minnesota United FC – a Major League Soccer team based in the Twin Cities – is investing $170 million in a 34.5-acre, mixed-use development in the Midway neighborhood, halfway between the downtowns of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Construction is active on four structures: two restaurants, an office building, a 158-room boutique hotel and a five-story parking ramp.
Golden Valley, Minn.-based Mortenson is the general contractor on the project, which is near Allianz Field soccer stadium at University and Snelling Avenues.
Site work began in 2023 on the development, known as United Village.
In a separate, nearby project site along University Avenue, McGuire is planning market-rate apartments and retail.
