OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. – Slated to break ground this summer is the $18 million, 117-room Courtyard by Marriott in Olive Branch, Miss. Also assisting with the land acquisition, JFB Construction Holdings will build the project.
Despite disruption in energy markets, supply chains and elevated interest rates, Marriott’s U.S. hotel project pipeline remains strong.
“The uncertainty created by macroeconomic and global factors like the war in Iran has not helped things,” said Marriott U.S. and Canada Global Development Officer Noah Silverman. “But hotels slated to open this year are opening on schedule, and signing momentum is holding.”
As part of its development strategy, Marriott is leaning into midscale and extended-stay brands in addition to conversion projects.
A sampling of other projects under construction include the 127-room SpringHill Suites in Byrce Canyon, Utah; Marriott & TownePlace Suites in Bastrop, Texas; and the 700‑room, Marriott‑branded convention hotel in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, designed by Portman Architects.
