CLEARWATER, Fla. – The former City Hall site in Clearwater, Fla. will soon be transformed into a 620,000-square-foot mixed-use development.
Seven years after the demolition of the city hall structure and four years after New York-based Gotham was chosen as the developer, a groundbreaking has occurred at The Bluffs, the $300 million development that will include a 400-unit luxury apartment building, 10,000 square feet of retail and 440 parking spaces.
Moss Construction is leading the project of the waterfront site, which will be adjacent to the newly constructed $84 million Coachman Park.
“This development combines upscale rental residences, expansive hospitality spaces, curated retail opportunities and vibrant public amenities to enrich the city’s vision for Downtown Clearwater and to give residents more options in downtown for residential and retail,” Mayor Bruce Rector said. “The Bluffs project will also be an extraordinarily environmentally friendly development to ensure we protect our pristine coastline and improve Clearwater’s environmental footprint.”
Construction began in March, and the apartments and retail shops are expected to open by June 2028.
