By HARMONY STILES
STANTON SPRINGS, Ga. – Clayco is the builder for Rivian’s 1,800-acre, state-of-the-art electric vehicle manufacturing facility that is slated to begin construction later this year.
Ground broke in September 2025 on the 9 million-square-foot, $5 billion EV plant.
Stanton Springs is located approximately 35 minutes east of Atlanta along Interstate 20.
The EV facility is expected to be operational in 2028. It is expected to manufacture Rivian’s R2 mid-size SUV with a price tag of just under $60,000. Beyond the R2, the Rivian facility now under development is slated at some point to produce the brand’s R3, a midsize crossover vehicle expected to carry a starting price of around $37,000.
